Hello Parent's!
I have 7 years experience doing daycare within my home and am a mother to two school aged boys, ages 7 and 9. I welcome everyone in my daycare, including teachers and part time children.
Each day we do daily outings, weather permitting, to the park, splash pad, walks in the neighbourhood or in the woods nearby, play dates with other providers in the area or play in my fenced in back garden. The children are introduced daily to letters, shapes, colors, and numbers, we read daily as group as I have a mini library for the children to pick a different book from.
My backyard consists of ride on toys, a Dora house, slides, sand box, picnic table and lots of little toys for the children to play with. Each year we tend to our own learning garden that we planted ourselves from seeds. This past year we grew raspberries, yellow peppers, tomatoes, pumpkins, zucchini, cucumbers and herbs and many more.
The main area of my daycare is in my basement, I have dedicated the entire basement to my daycare so that I can provide some larger toys for the children. We have a train table, walk-in kitchen, lots of ride on toys and lots of other toys for the children to play with. The basement consists of two rooms and a bathroom; one large playroom with the majority of the toys and the other one is what we call the craft/reading nook. We are not limited to the basement and I have some toys upstairs in my family room for the children to play with while I prepare snacks and lunch.
I provide two snacks and a lunch each day using fresh ingredients to cook with, fruits and vegetables are offered at each meal. I have a Police Clearance and have been re-certified with St John Ambulance Service in Emergency First Aid with Child & Infant CPR. I have excellent references and offer receipts each January. |
