Hello,
I am a mom of four teens who has been doing home day care in Milton for the past 5 years. I love toddlers!! :) I take the kids in normally at 12 months when mommies first go back to work and typically keep them until they turn 2 1/2 - 3 years. I love to keep my firends all at the same age/stage so that we can all play together without leaving anyone out. I found it very hard to meet the needs of everyone when they all had different interests, so this age group is working out very well. We have a wonderful, safe playroom right at the front of the house where all the toys are age appropriate. We have a small climber, slide, ball pit and mini trampoline as well as lots of smaller toys. The room is baby-proofed including foam on shelf edges and corners. There are nice big windows in our playroom that the kids love to look out to see what is happening outside.
I have a large buggy with six seats and we go for LOTS of walks. There are community pathways near our home that are a great place to let the toddlers out to walk and explore without fear of traffic nearby.
I have a pool in the backyard, so we do not go out there, but have fenced in the front yard and we play with toys out there in the afternoon while we wait for mommies and daddies to pick up.
I serve home cooked meals and typically feed my friends "dinner" at lunch (meat + pasta, rice or potato + veggie) with fruit for dessert and yogurt for afternoon snack. We usually have things like muffins, bagels etc. for morning snack.
We have a great routine that seems to suit everyone well. I have cots in the playroom for nap time and all kids sleep in the same room. I have a strict sick policy and am proud of the fact that most of our friends have been extremely healthy and have very few sick days.
I have a dog - an australian shepherd named Aussie. He is great with the kids and they love him.
My hours are 7:30 am - 5:00 pm.
