Hello there! Thank you for choosing Little Treasures Family Daycare. I have been in the business for close to 5 years. I was running Little Treasures in the East side of Vancouver for about 3 years. Prior to Little Treasures, I have been providing care to children in a variety of ages and personalities. I had decided to change my routines to the West end of Vancouver to be closer to my hobbies, such as rollerblading around the seawall and having my daily visits at Starbucks on Robson Street with a book in my hand.
I built up my interest in child providing due to my two younger siblings, who were under my care since I was 15 years old. Then with a growing number of 21 younger cousins who needs childcare, I knew the career path that was set up for me would be something to do with children. After High school, I enrolled into the Business and Marketing program at BCIT. After a year of studying, I noticed everything I learned within that year was a blank. So, one day I told myself, I want to wake up to something I enjoy learning. Yes, you guessed it, I withdrew from BCIT and volunteered at Strathcona Elementary School for a couple of months and found my passion in life. I applied for jobs as a childcare provider at homes outside and then eventually, I enrolled myself into an Early Childhood Education program and opened up my own family childcare.
Currently, I am enrolled into a Montessori Program. I am hoping to open a Preschool or Daycare involving the Philosophy of Maria Montessori. I have my CPR/First Aid and Food safe Certificate. Clean driving record and I have had my recent criminal record checked (clean). My spacious apartment is Child proofed/safe. Earthquake and First Aid kit ready etc. I have used my whole den as the “kids center”. I have a library corner, full of fun, educating games. Also, for the older children, I have a computer with learning programs. Together, we will sing, paint, planting/gardening, make puppets and story/circle time etc or even just a stroll in the inner streets of my safe neighbourhood with each day being different. We will work on the motor skills of your bundle of joy and I will introduce baking and preparing simple cooking to your children. I only provide organic foods to your children as that is also my personal choice in foods. I will have a monthly menu and activity plan to take home every month for parent’s approval before introducing anything to your child.
My building is on a NO pet and NO smoking policy. My inner courtyard (enclosed and safe) has a full playground and an indoor shallow pool for some splishing and splashing fun. I am a fun and energetic, reliable, super responsible and a very creative childcare provider. I am a very healthy person, with a great sense of humor with GREAT references.

Parents will receive a daily report documenting what your child has ate, bowel movements, nap time, activities and attitude etc and a monthly menu and activities will be sent home for approval. Fieldtrips and community centre activities included in care. Breakfast, hot lunch and 3 healthy snacks included in daily care. Call for our polcy handbooks on guidance care/philosophy today!!!!! |
