Hello, my name is Shelley and have been a Child and Youth Worker for over 15 years. My extensive experience includes working with both typical developing children as well as children with special needs in group homes in conjunction with the CAS, daycare centres, hospitals, school boards, and treatment centres just to name a few. I have a vast knowledge of both typical child development as well as a wide range of developmental disorders. I also have experience with play therapy and love music.
As a mother, I truly understand how difficult it is to find someone you can not only trust to watch your child, but who will also treat them with love and respect; someone who will nurture and comfort them; someone who will help them reach their full potential. I am a strong believer in positive reinforcement and positive behaviour management. I will help build your child's self-esteem and confidence level through a healthy balance of educational games and activities that will include homework support, music, arts and crafts, outdoor time and free time so kids can just enjoy being kids! I will also provide healthy snacks.
I currently have before and after school spots available in September and am located near Hawthorne Village Public School. I provide quality care, refernces and reciepts. I charge $20.00 / day. I have a Police background check, Health and Safety check as well as a CAS background check. I am also trained in First Aid and CPR. My home is clean, smoke and pet free.
