I am a new mom of a 11 month old son and am offering before and after school child care from my home for students of the Alta Vista Public School for the 2008-09 school year. I will be taking a maximum of five children between the ages of 6 and 10.
The structure of the day will be determined in collaboration with the children and parents, building upon the interests of the children. This will allow us to be spontaneous and responsive to immediate interests; with activities being driven by the ideas and questions from the children themselves.
Activities could include such things as board games, crafts, writing projects, music and a bit of outdoor play each day. In addition, I would like to devote some time in the afternoon to completion of homework.
Hours: 8:00 to 9:00 and 3:30 to 5:30 with drop off and pick up at school.
