I relocated to Edmonton from London Ontario just over 1 year ago (My husband is a dentist with the Canadian Army). I live in the North West end of Edmonton. I adore children and my husband and I are delighted to have a 7 month old son. My mother has been the supervisor of 8 day cares for the past 16 years. From childhood I have been volunteering at these days cares.
Having an infant in the house, I have all the necessities required for in home child care: books, educational DVDS, movies, toys, play areas and above all; a safe and happy environment where children can learn and play and parents can feel at ease that their children are in safe and caring hands.
I have taken leadership course, volunteered at the YMCA (working with handicapped children) and have worked at numerous childrens camps (ie: M.A.D: Music, Art, Drama). I have babysat children ranging from newborns up to middle school. I have completed part of my B.A. and would one day like to continue on to Teachers College where I would like to teach elementary school age children.
Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
