I would like to start by giving you a little personal information about myself.
My sister has done at home daycare for the past 10 years so I have had a great teacher and the opportunity to work in a home daycare environment.
I have worked as a Residential Care Aide since 1997 and a Special Education Asst. since 2005. With my previous job history I have had the pleasure of working with children as young as 4 years old and adults as old as 65, all with mental and/or physical disabilities.
Through my experience I believe I have learned more from those individuals then they could have ever learned from me. I am glad I could have been a part of helping them to show their true abilities and hope they gained some confidence and had some fun as well!
-I am up to date with my infant/toddler First Aid and CPR.
-I have a clean criminal record check.
-I have a Community Support Worker Certificate
-I worked with various aged children in the Coquitlam School Board
-I am currently working on qualifications to licence my Daycare
Now here is a little about TLC Home Daycare
We have been open since Dec. 2008.
At The Learning Corner we believe in providing a safe and positive environment for your children to learn and grow in.
Our goal is to promote and encourage positive self awareness for themselves and towards others.
We use positive re-direction to show them their way when guidance is needed.We do not believe in yelling,physical restraints and/or sucluded timeouts.
We provide only the highest quality food for your children’s snacks and meals, using all natural and organic whenever possible. (there is so much available these days) Each month a menu is sent out so you will be aware of what your child is eating day to day.
We provide a wide range of activities to cater to many ages of children. We want all children to be able to enjoy their days here.
Due to the ages of the children in our care right now ( 12-18 months), we do not have a set activity schedule. Our day is filled with various activities; story time, centre’s time, snack time, lunch time, nap time, outdoor time,etc.
We love to incorporate education into our day and slowly as our kids are entering that age range we are able to do a lot more with our letters, numbers, day of the week etc.
We try to keep a balance between group activities which are important for socializing our children and teach a more structured way of interacting and individual, non structured activities where our kids really shine while just being themselves. |

We have a family dog, named Kyra. She is a very child friendly dog. We would love to include her on our walks, so it's a must that you are okay with doggy involvement.
If your child has food allergies you may be required to provide snacks and lunches.
We would appreciate a box of diapers to start and we will give ample warning when more is needed. (each child will have a cubby so there is no need to worry about others using your child's belongings)
If your child is on formula, you will need to provide it. We will provide homo, 2%, 1%,or skim milk. |
