Hi Parents.
Let me introduce my self to you. My name is Amanda, I'm 23 years old and new to Guelph. I graduated from Georgian College in Orillia with my ECE diploma. I've been an ECE teacher for 2 years, I worked Private school in Barrie until I took my Maternity leave in September. I'm looking at opening my own centre, but will start in our condo. We are enjoying the city and getting to know everything Guelph has to offer.
I hope to provide care for 1-2 children, (or depending on age) so that we can go to the park and other field trips if that suits the needs of my families.
I have one son Cole, I am really enjoying being a mom, but realizing that mat leave ends soon, and need to start planning for our future.
Our home is non smoking, and pet free.
I have specialized training in first aid and CPR, for infants to adults.
I will have weekly schedules and themes, and your Childs activities will be based around those themes. When you come for a meet and greet you can take a look through my idea book and see what I'll teach your children and the fun that we will have together.
I will incorporate all the different subjects, from math sheets, to finger painting, to sensory play, to science projects, to music and dance classes, your child will never run out of fun things to do. And will always come home with an enthusiastic response about there day. I'm a firm believer that out door time is something every child needs, and due to my ECE background the minimum time outdoors is 2 hours a day, 1 hour usually in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon, and depending on weather situations we will accommodate this, my husband and I own a Condo however we have access to a yard and I will take the children for a walk to the park. (It's just up the street.)
I love children, I love teaching them, and encouraging them to grow, and most of all I love being part of who they become when they are older. One on one time is so important to our children, and I want to keep my numbers low so that I can provide that for your children.
Full meals provided - of course with the daily food guide as my reference. You will receive a weekly meal calendar and if there are any food allergies we can make changes from there.
I'm willing to work with families and be supportive of there schedules and needs. Please pay little attention to the times the day care is open, as I said I can be flexible.
I have a lot of experience with the toddler age group, from encouraging children to share and play together, to toilet teaching and teaching them there alphabet. I did work for an entire year with the toddler group and I absolutely love that age group, however I am experienced with working with older children and do enjoy all age groups.
I have many references available upon request, which vary from schools I have worked at, to parents of the children I’ve taught.
