I have vacancies in my home based child care center for 4 full-time children to attend. If someone requires only part-time care, or needs me to to take their child to a school in my area, I am also open to this. I live in the Willow/Westwood/Rhonda Road area.
I have worked as a support worker for the past 5 years, and have experience with developmental disabilities. I also have worked with behavioral clients, and have worked with specialists and diagnoses teams on behalf of clients I support. I have valid CPR and First Aid training through St.John's Ambulance. I am also knowledgeable in WHMIS and fire extinguisher training. I have also been taught the proper ways to use Q-straints to transport clients that need to use wheelchairs. I have a university degree in English, from the University of Guelph.
I am offering a warm, clean and safe home for children in my care. I live across the road from a big park, have an in ground pool with a certified life guard (from May-September). I am 15 minutes away from the West End Rec Center, public library, and other child care facilities for which I am planning to arrange play dates for the children under my care.
I am a musical person who made it to the Top 100 the first year tat Canadian Idol was here in Canada. I will be offering 30-45 minutes of a structured musical program in my home each day that will include different themes. I am also going to be running "theme" days, and circle activities such as show and tell and story time. I plan to engage the children in the same manner that I do for my own daughter, and hope that if you require care, or know someone who needs it, you will feel free to contact me.
