I am a mother of 2 boys who is opening my home for several child(ren) to join my family daycare. I know the importance of leaving your child(ren) in a well looked after, loving and safe home. The individual needs of each child are considered, with the understanding that the child will grow and learn best in a warm, fun, safe and well-equipped environment. This type of environment enables the child to explore the world for themselves.
My home is child friendly and is a smoke free environment. I follow the Canada Food guide to ensure that there are healthily choices for breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks that are provided daily. At least once a week we have make your own pizza or sandwich day. The children really enjoy these days; they get really excited for the Pizza/Sandwich Party day.
Your child will not wander aimlessly and will not be expected to sit for long periods of time. Children will have access to various activities throughout the day. Some of the activities to look for are assorted building blocks and other construction materials, costumes for pretend play, picture books, paints and art materials, table toys such as matching games, trains and puzzles. The children will learn numbers and the alphabet through magnetic letters, books, and songs in the context of their everyday experiences. The children will have an opportunity to play outside every day, weather permitting. I have a swing set, pirate ship, slip & slide, several ride-on toys and a basketball net just to name a few of the outdoor activities. There will also be theme days; themes inspired by the children’s likes and interests (i.e.; costume party on Halloween, ginger bread cookie decorating at Christmas).
I am located at the SW corner of Mavis & Derry Rd. There are 2 parks, splash pad and Conservation Park within walking distance. During the school year I drop off and pick up children from St. Veronica Catholic School. I am also within walking distance to the bus stops for Meadowvale Village Public School and Britannia Public School.
I am open Monday-Friday 7am-5:30pm with reasonable rates and receipts provided at the end of the year.
References upon request, police check and First Aid/CPR and Infant First Aid/CPR certified.
