Are you wanting a fun, safe environment, with learning experiences for your child? Welcome to my home child care, where your child will be looked after, in a stimulating and caring way! My daycare is like a ‘home away from home’, and I offer care for up to 5 children. I am located in the east end, southern area, of the city, known as the Beavermead subdivision. I am very close to Ashburnham Dr., on a street just off of Marsdale Dr. I’m not too far from Lansdowne St. and Hwy 115, and I’m only about 5 mins. from the downtown area. I have cared for children from different areas of this city, and from towns east of Peterborough, as well.
My rate for care up to 8.5 hrs is $28.00 The rate listed above is for care after 8.5 hrs. up to 9 hrs.
I provide a comfortable learning environment, which encourages children to explore and make choices, by learning through play and activities. I am a mature and responsible mother of 2 teenage children, and I have been providing home child care since February 1999. I provide full and part-time care. I welcome children from age 10 months to grade 1 (I could continue care longer, if I have space for before/after school). I am located near the school bus stop (2 mins. away), for King George School. I have experience with children of all ages (In the past, I have cared for children from ages 7 mos-12 yrs.).
The children will take part in various activities, which will provide an opportunity to learn skills at their own pace, and to become independent. They become proud of themselves! I provide a routine day, yet allow for flexibility, which the children feel very comfortable with. I offer a well-balanced program that includes:
* individual/group activities, structured/unstructured activities, active/quiet times
* a playroom, full of toys and play centres, for self-directed play. I also have an assortment of nature items from the great outdoors, to play with.
* a family room, where we do music/movement/language time (rhymes, singing, songs on CD, musical instruments, dancing, and reading), more toys, some activities, book bin, and some computer time for various activities.
* the kitchen, where we do crafts and activities (seasonal, holiday, and general), sensory, puzzles, colouring, painting, fun sheets, etc).
* outdoor time—I have a fully fenced backyard, which includes play equipment, sandbox, water bin, and a shed with riding toys and other toys. We also play out front, at times. We go on neighbourhood walks, and in spring, summer and fall, we can visit 4 neighbourhood parks. We go outside every day, except in poor weather/extreme temperatures. I am located in a quiet neighbourhood.
* I use separate rooms, for each child at naptime.
* I have child care certificates, from the Family Child Care Training Program, for Level 1 and 2.
* I have also taken other child care courses as well.
* I have a childproofed home, infant and child CPR/First Aid, police check, references on request, and of course, a smoke-free home.
* I offer healthy snacks and lunch, a daily summary in a journal, and receipts are issued yearly.
Also, we have a friendly cat and he is comfortable with children, and he sleeps mostly through the day, usually away from the daycare areas.
My goal is to make learning fun, and to offer parents a safe place to leave their child during the day! As a mother, I know it is important to find quality care, where you will feel comfortable leaving your child. I’m pleased that parents have felt confident with my care, and entrusted their children to me! For more information, or to set up an appointment to meet, contact me at the phone number or email address listed above. Thank you. |
