Located in Millwoods, within walking distance of Sakaw Elementary and St. Richards Elementary, my dayhome is a safe home away from home.
My dayhome is bright and inviting, with room for free play including dress up, dramatic play, blocks and other manipulative toys, singing, dancing and circle time. I have a defined area geared towards arts and crafts, structured activities and thematic learning centers. I also have a separate reading/book corner, that comes in handy when a child wants to have some time alone. It is cozy and cuddly with lots of soft things to cuddle and relax with.
I have a large fenced backyard with toys, sand table, a slide and lots of shade. In the summer we enjoy a lot of safe, water play.
A typical day in my dayhome includes, arts and crafts, dramatic play, story time, singing and dancing, outdoor time or some kind of gross motor activity during inclement weather, exploring new concepts and ideas through both free play and more structured activities.
Two healthy snacks and a hot, home cooked, nutritious lunch are provided. Meal planning and preparation is done with accordance with the Canada Food Guide's recommendations for growing children. Milk and water are provided throughout the day for proper hydration. |
