Please allow me to introduce myself.
I am a 41 year old retired business women and have one son who is 8 years old. We live in a 4 bedroom, 3 bath, 2800 square foot home. I have a great deal of experience with children. I am a former gymnastics coach for young children and also have 28 nieces and nephews as well as 22 great nieces and nephews. I am the youngest of 7 girls and 6 boys, so I had the great pleasure of babysitting from the age of 13 for free!!!!haha
We live 5 houses away from the public school, WJ Watson and across from Whipper Watson Park. We also have a football field/soccer field and basketball court behind our house.
The theme of the daycare "Outward Bound" is to do as much activity outdoors as possible.
I coordinate sports activities on a daily basis such as soccer, basketball, football, road hockey, bike riding, scooter riding, skateboarding and more.
We are also a short walking distance from the Public Library which we visit at least twice per week. I include in the weekly schedule a reading hour and learning hour.
One of the 4 bedrooms is designated as a homework/reading room. I have my own inventory/library of children's books. This is a great way to allow the children to focus on learning with no distractions.
The basement is set up as a large playroom where they can run and play and be rambunchious on days where we are not able to go outdoors.
Also available are playstations, satellite TV and access to the internet. These activities are used under strict supervisions and are limited but they are useful for keeping the older children happy.
If you would like to know more about my daycare please feel free to call me at your convenience.
