Hello my name is Silvana, I am a loving mother of one with daycare management diploma. I have 19 years experience. I chose to open my home daycare because I love children, I love to help them learn.
Educational activities include, basic math, reading, writing, science. All done in a fun interactive way, I try to incorporate math into swing time. spelling in the learning of science, Example. on one of our walks we encounter a frog. We spell frog and the children are taught that the frog is green and the toads are brown. All age appropriate. I try to make learning fun. there is also time for crafts and just having fun and being children. Children are never left unattended. Our back yard is fenced and, is sort of extended , it backs onto conservation land, perfect for walks and nature watching.( birds, rabbits, and deer) . There is also a park at the end of our street. I try to keep my home as neat and clean, and as safe as possible. Also I minimize TV watching. We spend most of our time outside . Weather permitting.
Nutritional snacks, lunches are a variety of food that is mostly homemade. Soups, pasta, sandwiches all accompanied with drinks and fruit and or vegetables.. Also age appropriate. ( from about one year of age if off baby food. I keep the children busy. playing, reading, puppets, learning and just having a fun safe day. Fred A. Hamilton school is two minutes away through a non vehicle walkway. School is french immersion.
I have also worked with children with A.D.D.
Will work with parents in every way possible to make the integration from home to daycare a smooth one. I start with children as early as 6:30 AM and will work as late as 6 PM
I also provide references and ask the parents to provide a Information sheet that I keep in a separate folder for each child with contact information. For your little ones I provide sleeping areas that your child is accustomed to. For example if your child sleeps better at nap time away from others that is were they will be snuggled down for their naps. I also provide for the parents an daily activity sheet that is given to the parents at time of pick up detailing the days activities. As needed.
