Description

Come share our nanny with us!

what: we have 2 full-time daycare spaces available immediately.

where: we are in Queensway Terrace North (near the Pinecrest/Carling intersection and Frank Ryan Park)

how: we have hired a caregiver to care for our daughter in our home. Mommy’s gone back to work and rather than send our daughter to a daycare, we've decided to start our own at home! This type of thing is done quite often and is known as "sharing a nanny"

who: our nanny, Mary Jane, is a close relative on mommy's side of the family.

when: Monday to Friday. Mary Jane currently works from 7:30am to 4:30pm, but our hours are somewhat flexible depending on your schedule.

price: $40/day for toddler

our home: we have lots of fun and educational toys in a spacious, clean and safe environment. Always smoke-free and pet-free.

outdoor activities: park, nature walks, lots of games and toys in the yard. It is our priority to make sure the kids get outside everyday for fresh air and exercise. We will even be putting up a car shelter in the winter, so kids can be outside but sheltered from the wind on very cold days.

indoor activities: books, games, toys, figurines, animals, puzzles, tickle truck (dress-up clothes), tea party, play kitchen and laundry room, ride-on toys, colouring, painting, crafts of all kinds, etc..

trips: we live near Severn Public School and they run an amazing program called the "Parenting and Family Literacy Centre". The program runs Monday to Thursday 9am-2pm and it's FREE! We have been going there since our daughter was a baby. Kids get to go to school and play in a classroom with other children. There are tons of activities, toys and art, as well as snack time, circle time, and even gym! There are only 10 schools that have this program in all of Ottawa and we are lucky to be a few blocks from one!

travel: Mary Jane will have a stroller that fits 3 children, so the kids will be safe and secure when traveling to school, park, etc. she does not drive.

food: Mary Jane will be serving healthy morning and afternoon snacks, as well as a well-rounded home-cooked lunch everyday.

nap: our daughter currently naps for 90 minutes in the afternoon. We have lots of bedrooms and kids can bring a travel bed/playpen for their naps.

more about Mary Jane: what we love about Mary Jane is that she is very interactive with our daughter. She is full of energy and imagination. She has a personal interest in caring for children and has read many books on caregiving and child raising, and she has done countless hours of babysitting kids of all ages. I have known Mary Jane her whole life and she is one of the most loving and compassionate people I have ever met. We feel extremely lucky to have such an amazing person and caregiver looking after our daughter when we're away at work.

more about our home: kids will mostly play on the main level. Our living room and dining room have hardwood floors. We have tons of toys in toy boxes, on shelves and in bins. We have safety gates at every stairwell. Kids can go upstairs or downstairs to go to the washroom. 3 bedrooms upstairs for naps. We also have a large carpeted play area in the basement. We have a TV in the living room and various DVDs the kids can watch, but TV time will be very limited.
Admission conditions
We are looking for a family with 2 kids not yet in school OR 2 different families with 1 child each. We’re hoping to find at least one child who is similar to our daughter's age (she is almost 3 years old).
