I am an enthusiastic, insightful and dependable Registered Nurse (BScN 2005) and mother of a 10 month old infant girl. I have several years of intermittent child care experience, including care for both physically and developmentally challenged children in a health care setting, as well as standard child care in a home setting. I am astute at identifying the needs of children, thoroughly enjoy catering any activity to appropriately suit all ages/ability and love teaching. I am conscientious in the care I provide and respect/support all backgrounds and routines. My nursing registration is current as well as my level-C CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation. I have no criminal record and a clear driving record and a safe, modern vehicle.
We are located in Clarkdale Meadows (Sherwood Park) in a quiet, family filled cul de sac within walking distance of 3 public parks. Our home is safe and bright with a very large open floor plan, an incredible nursery and fenced yard. Our home and everything in it is clean/in good repair. Our atmosphere is honest, calm, organized and accepting. We are non-smoking and we have gentle, playful pet cats.
A day in our home may flexibly include: stories, music, interactive play with toys/puzzles/puppets, crafts (seasonal crafts, painting, playdough, coloring, pastels, beading etc), fun with food (baking and making fun snacks), outdoor time (kiddy pool, sandbox with toys, tobogganing, ball sports, bike riding), “field trips” to the playground/“kids-quarters”/stars & strollers at the movies/library/swimming pool and much more!
The nursery boasts a bright 3 windowed 425-square feet and features a 300+ book library with reading sofa, tea table, several musical instruments, large dollhouse, play kitchen, “doctor’s station”, ball pit, puzzles and countless toys (most of which are interactive learning toys).
I provide frequent nutritious and appealing meals/snacks and accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences. I am comfortable and capable of handling any/all medication administration.
I am looking for one child aged 3 (would take a mature 2) to 5 years old to share 1-2 days per week regular basis with us, or on a casual "time to time" basis. I am available for day shifts only, hours of which are negotiable. Extra hours/days negotiable. 1/2 days negotiable. I will not have more than 3 children in my care at any given time including my own child in order to provide this high standard of care.
My rate is $55/day.
