Description

Play to Learn Child Care in Milton, ON.
opening September 2013

My name is Janetta Navarro, I'm a Mom of 3; Travis is now 23 - been there, done that! Simon is 9 - live is about Lego and Victoria is 21 months - our world changes every day!

For many years I considered switching careers to become a stay at home mom and child care provider, so after losing my job while on maternity leave with Victoria I was faced with the decision to look for work outside the home or follow my desire to stay home with my children and help out other parents with their daycare needs.

I would have struggled with leaving Simon and Victoria to work outside the home, hence, someone else playing a huge role in raising my children, this would be a place where Victoria would spend a great deal of time. I wanted an environment where Simon and Victoria could just be kids - a place where they would learn through back to the basics playing....I decided to stay home.

At this point I have decided to share with you what I DON'T have. I don't have a degree in ECE and I currently don't have CPR certification. I don't have the experience of running a home child care business BUT what I do have is a natural love for children and common sense real life experience. My experience comes from being a Mom, an aunt, a friend who babysits; taking care of children is not new. I love to see children play and explore, I encourage self esteem and team participation. I offer my children the good ole days of playing. I have no interest in running a business of children; my home and approach is warm and loving and I will "work with my" parents to provide a real life home away from home. If you are looking for super structured than quite honestly I'm not the Mom for you, we are kind of go with the flow here.

We have several parks in our neighbourhood, your child will enjoy lots of outdoor play. We will circle time, do crafts, read and tell stories. We will have quiet time and individual play. We will celebrate holidays and special events. We will have lots of FUN!

Snacks and lunch will follow the Canadian Food Guide.

I have 3 full time spaces available, 1 part time and a hand full of before and after school care. I will provide receipts on a weekly and/or monthly basis and I'm happy to provide references.

Admission conditions
We do have a family dog - Pluto. He is a 17 lb. hypo allergenic toy poodle, he loves people and is very good with children.

I am walking distance to both PL Robertson and Escarpment View Public Schools; this is very convenient for parents looking for before and after school care.

Unfortunately, I am not equipped to watch special needs children.
