A recent university graduate with a degree in commerce, my name is Natalie and I have wanted to be an entrepreneur since I took my first business class in grade 11. Not only that, I have always loved kids and have thus spent many years volunteering and working in various positions in relation to children; volunteer library kids activities, 3 year sports camp counselor at Carleton University, 2 years part-time day care, 2 years birthday party entertainer. So it only seems natural for me to start-up my very own daycare service and I’m very excited about it!
I have always been a physically active person (5 year university varsity soccer player) and I believe it is an essential aspect to a healthy body and mind, especially for growing children. Therefore, I plan to include a variety of physical activities in my childcare service, including walks to parks and plenty of outdoor games which I have learned in my sports camp experiences. Learning and creativity are also important values of mine, and likewise, I plan to read books and administer arts and crafts to the children, plus I can also do magic tricks and balloon animals just for fun. Furthermore I believe that independent play and individuality are important to the happiness and development of children, so I plan to allow them time to chose their own, supervised activities and time to make friends with each other. By law, I will only be able to look after 5 children in my home so I plan to build a close-knit group of friends who have lots of fun, everyday! And of course, as a newly independent child caregiver, I am open to suggestions and would greatly appreciate any comments and feedback!!! |
