Hi my name is Melissa. I have ran my home daycare for almost 12 years. I have 2 children of my own, my daughter is 11 and my son is 8. They are both in school full time at Lockes Public School. Daycare is not a "job" to me, I love kids and teaching them! Our days are full of laughing, learning, fun and lots of TLC. Each day we have circle time, stories, crafts, out door play each day (weather permitting), sensory play, activities related to themes/seasons, etc
I send home monthly calendars about what we will doing each day as well as a daily journal with any important notes in it about our day. It is a good communication tool for you the parent to know about your childs day.
Our backyard is completely fenced in with lots of activities to play with as well as parks close by. I have a full toy room with toy rotation, LOTS of fun toys and activities for your child. During nap time, if your child does not nap, we spend time doing "school readiness" activities.
I provide all snacks and lunch as well as receipts.
My motto is to treat daycare kids the way I would want my kids to be treated. This is their home away from home. All of my past and present daycare children become part of our family and still have contact with each family I have worked with. I have LOTS of amazing references!!
Our home is pet friendly with a cat, dog and 2 hamsters, They all love the kids as they have been brought up with lots of kids around them!
My hours of operation are from 6:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday, but may be flexible. I am located in the North end of St thomas on Hawthorn Court.Please feel free to contact me for more information and or to set up a time to meet. I look forward to hearing from you!
