Our daycare is dedicated to providing a warm and inviting atmosphere that allows children to develop at their own pace. We believe that children need to have a positive self-image. We foster that image, along with their developmental growth in the areas of intellectual, social, physical, and emotional skills, through a variety of group activities, individual play, and quiet periods. Our program makes use of many play and learning materials that help the children gain confidence in their abilities to do and make things. At the daycare, we are parent-friendly. We welcome parent visits anytime, and we seriously consider all parent suggestions and comments.
The daycare is designed to care for eight children per child care provider. This number may increase for short periods during the day (i.e. lunch hour and after school). We have 3 childcare providors available.
We are committed to providing healthy meals and snacks for the children. All food will be provided with the exception of formula, baby food, and special foods required by the children (i.e. milk allergies).
We have strict guidelines with regards to disease control, hence there may be times when we must either send an ill child home, or not to accept an ill child into care. If a child becomes ill at the daycare, we will do everything possible to comfort the child until the parent or emergency contact person arrives to take the child home.
At the daycare, we believe that children need guidance, understanding, and a few easy to follow rules in order to learn appropriate behaviour. It is our policy to help children learn appropriate behaviour by establishing clear limits, explaining those limits in a positive way, and by using the time out method to calm a child when necessary. We believe one minute per the child’s age is a sufficient time out period, to a maximum of five minutes.
Children will be supervised at all times indoors and outdoors. Children to be chaperoned from inside to backyard or across street to park. Children may be taken on walks on sidewalks to another play area. When crossing street, buddy system will be used

1:30 - 2:30 Letter of the Week work sheet or Theme Related Colouring Page (while younger children finish naps)
2:30 - 3:00 Puzzles, Play Dough, Structured Play
3:00 - 3:30 Snack Time
3:30 - 4:30 Outside Play or Inside Free Play (depending on weather)
4:30 - CloseGames, Music and Movement, Clean up of toys
Wednesday afternoons: Baking
Friday afternoons: Movie
We will be open from 7:30a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. These times do vary.
The daycare will be closed on all statutory holidays and also on the week that Christmas falls on. Closure dates will be posted on wall calendar and are subject to change.
Our daycare is completely smoke free. Smoking is not allowed by parents or staff members in the daycare or in outside play areas.
Deposit of $50 per child is required at time of signing contract. This will be deducted from your last invoice.
We welcome parents to bring special items for the children on holidays and birthdays, such as cakes, valentine’s cards, etc. A list of children can be provided if requested.
We do theme related crafts/games to celebrate holidays.
Children will learn about a new theme and alphabet letter every two weeks for about one hour a day. |
