Im a mother of 2 amazing little boys. One just turned 8 months old, and an almost 4 year old. I love children. It gives me such joy and honor to be around them everyday. I live in a smoke free AND pet free home. It is also a peanut and tree nut free environment.
I have all kinds of the needed ‘baby equipment’ and toys for children of all ages, that will challenge them developmentally, and creatively. I also have the many materials for creative experiences to give them a chance to create things with their own imagination. I believe in taking children out for walks, whether its just a way to talk about the things they see, or to collect things from the environment. I try to plan different activities for the children to keep them learning daily. I also do ‘in the moment’ planning, so if a child comes up with a cool idea, I’ll do my best to find a way to help them implement their ideas.
Each day, I fill out a form letting the parents know what the child ate, how many diaper changes they had, etc.. so the parents stay well informed and feel comfortable knowing how their children are doing. I feel very strongly that good communication is the key to making the relationship work.
I provide snacks as well as lunch, and if the child was staying late that day, dinner would also be provided. I have no problem serving a menu particular to a certain faith, diet or allergy. My son has allergies to peanuts, tree nuts and eggs, so I’m used to finding foods that work for him.
I graduated with distinction from the Early Childhood Education Program at Conestoga College this past December. I have my CPR and first aid certification through St.John's Ambulance, criminal record check, and am up to date with all my immunizations. My husband, who works during the day, can also provide a criminal record check, and has his CPR and first aid, as well as up to date immunizations. References can also be provided upon request.
I’m available to provide full time or part time care, as well as before and after school care, for all age groups.
