I am a stay at home mom of 2 kids, boy age 5 and girl age 3. I quit my job to stay home because I had challenges with the care my kids were receiving. I decided I would offer the level of care I expected for my kids to other kids. I have been operational for 2 years. The oldest child currently in my dayhome is my son at 5 and the youngest is my daughter at 3. My background is in Physical Therapy where my most recent position was on the orthopedic/oncology units at the Alberta Children's Hospital. I have also been a First Aid and CPR instructor for 10 years and I'm a certified Emergency Medical Responder. My son and another little girl from my dayhome will be attending St. Benedicts in the fall, so I'm keen to take on more kids from that school as it would make transportation easier. Me and 2 other families are hoping to enroll our girls in Southland Leisure Centre Playschool. I can also get kids to bus stops for Canyon meadows and Chinook Park. Cedarbrae School, St. Cyril, Louis Reil and Braeside schools are near by. Lunches for full time school kids are included in fees as well as PD days. Discussion around winter break and spring break. Healthy homemade lunches and snacks for all other kids. Breakfast is also provided. Tons of outings. Some kids may require passes. Trips may include, zoo, heritage park, science centre, water park, tyrell museum, southland leisure centre and more. We have special days and we have big birthday celebrations. There is little to no TV in my home. Most days there is none. I allow the kids to have fun and explore but within boundries and with rules. The kids will learn independence and respect as well as the importance of sharing, encouraging and helping. School transportation and tons of outings is hard to come by in a dayhome so don't miss this chance. Call me and set up a time to meet. |
