Hello! My name is Niki and my husband and I are the loving owners of “Two Teachers Toddler Care”! As the name indicates, we are both elementary school teachers running a home daycare in the Guelph area! I have experience volunteering at a daycare , working as a dance teacher, children’s theatre performer and most recently….. as an elementary school teacher. I also raise my two lovely, littles ones. My little girl is two and a half and my boy is nearly a year. They will also be in my care during the year. I believe that while your children are in my care, their happiness, security, and safety are every bit as important as my own children's.
In our daycare, education, stimulation, physical activity and interest are very important to learning and development! We play hard, learn hard, eat healthy and enjoy our day while practicing manners, consideration and learning to express emotion.
Routine is important! Mornings begin with circle time, sharing, songs, reading and free play! Each day we have an outing to either an Early Years’ Centre up the street, a playgroup at the library up the street, the park playground, the fire hall or some other interesting, engaging fieldtrip.
Nutritious snacks are offered in the morning and the afternoon with a wholesome, homecooked meal at lunchtime.
Each day, there is time spent on arts and crafts and artistic expression
Nap and rest time is also encouraged each day after lunch
Educational learning opportunities are always offered such as math (baking), reading (books), school prep, language (sharing opportunities), counting, ABC’s, etc.
There are separate sleeping areas for all the children.
Monthly/weekly calendars are offered to parents in advance to help parents understand what activities we will do and accomplish
Communication books are offered as a means to help keep the gap minimal and help parents feel involved and aware.
TV is very limited. If any is shown, it would be one short program which furthers the day’s theme or learning concept i.e. animals
We are first Aid certified and are aware of working around certain allergies and sensitivities.

We live in a large four bedroom, smoke free, home with a finished basement leaving lots of opportunity learning and play. We have a medium sized Maltipoo who is very kind and gentle with children. He is also non-allergenic.
