Hello Moms and Dads!
My name is Melinda, and I am a mother to two healthy little girls, aged three and four. I hold a degree in Child and Youth Work which I obtained here in Kingston in 2006. I have over six years experience working with children of all ages in educational, residential, and community based settings. Along with a diploma is CYW, I am certified in First Aid and CPR, Crisis Prevention Intervention, have a clean CPIC, and am experienced working with children with cognitive and behavioral disorders.
Playcare is operated in our home, and is designed to serve families with children aged six months to twelve years. I am dedicated to providing enriching care in a caring environment. My mission is to operate in a manner similar to licensed child care in terms of quality, while providing the flexibility and affordability, that is
equally crucial to working families. Playcare will follow some guidelines as set out in the Day Nurseries Act, such as providing nutritous snacks and meals that follow the Canadian Food Guide, adopting similar policies for disciplinary action, and providing a variety of structured activities that are enriching and allow children
to exercise their sensory, fine motor, and gross motor skills.
