Looking for child care for my four boys was one of the most frustrating times of my life. I knew what I wanted, quality care, at a reasonable price....Why was it not out there?
I wanted a preschool system, that had the flexibility of working with my boys individual strengths and weaknesses. I didn't want an institution, where the children were expected to take naps, even if they no longer needed them, or where they were required to do a particular craft even though, that was not what they wanted that day. The other side of it was, I did want a place where they would learn new an exciting things....where they would get to play, and explore and learn, or just relax and enjoy themselves if that was what they wanted to do...
When I couldn't find what I wanted, I created it. Here at Lisa's Little Learners, we have a curriculum. On any given day, I may have up to five activities prepared for the day, because if one isn't working, we simply go to the next, and if that still doesn't work we just keep moving on. There is no pressure to learn, children usually do that without even knowing it.
We sing, we dance, we read, we play, we do crafts, all the while, learning our curriculum and having a great time.
