As an ECE of 20 years I was blessed with the opportunity in 2006 to leave large group day care and create a home away from home for your child. With the tremendous support of my husband (giving up his "man room" for our classroom) The Heart of a Child become a reality
The Heart of a Child – Licensed Home Day Care strives to provide a safe and positive environment for children to learn and grow. It is recognized that children are unique individuals and our future. A qualified, friendly caregiver welcomes and accepts each child and their family, teaching and exemplifying unconditional love and positive values.
My programs are designed to enhance the development of each child at their own pace. My place is to act as a guide, using the child’s interests as a foundation for planning a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Self concept is highly regarded and therefore a major emphasis is placed on building confidence and creative expression, encouraging each child to uncover their own special talents.
Parents are considered to be a very vital part of our group. I am privileged to compliment their role as primary caregiver to their child. Monthly calendars are offered to give parents a glimpse at our plans, and daily communication is encouraged through verbal or written means. I value any thoughts the parents may have to share, as well as the time they have to share with us. Parents are welcome to inquire about participating in daily activities, field trips and/or special events.
Acceptance of one’s self and those around us is a very important part of our philosophy. We all are reminded daily that everyone is special, and everyone is equal, and most importantly - loved.
