Chickadees Childcare is a private home daycare and playschool in Toronto's vibrant Upper-Beaches community.
We accept children aged 12 months to twelve years and operate in a dedicated space in a warm, welcoming home. Located steps from Woodbine subway station, the S.Walter Stewart Branch Public Library and Gledhill Park.Chickadees Childcare offers a healthy balance of free and structured play and learning, field trips, and outdoor adventures. We provide two snacks and two meal per day, all of which are homemade, nutritious and focus on seasonal, organic ingredients wherever possible.
Chickadees Childcare offers a child-led curriculum, focusing on the ever-changing interests and life experiences of our children and what is happening in the world around them. Life skills, from literacy to social skills, are incorporated into all elements of the program. Activities include, but are definitely not limited to:
- literacy and numeracy development activities
- regular trips to Gledhill Park, East Lynn Park, the library, OEYC and other local venues
- music and dramatic play
- morning aerobics
- outdoor play
- sports and active games
- Circle Time
- puzzles and small motor activities
- fitness activities and large-motor skill development

- expressive and sensory art activities
- individual quiet activities and story time
