Home day care in the Paisley Road/St. Joseph's school area.
I am a registered early childhood educator with experience in centres and with diversly abled children.
I offer full day, before and afterschool care complete with nutritious snacks and meals. The program is based on the children's interest and largely focused on science based activities and exploring the world around us. I have early literacy programming, dramatic play components, as well as, gross and fine motor development activities. The program offers a quiet area for children to relax and unwind, play with puzzles or look and listen to books and stories. A creative component is offered every day and all activities are the child's choice. Outdoor play is offered twice a day, and a daily excursion to a local park weather permitting. Devolpmentally programming is offered each day, based on the child's needs and a quiet time is offered each afternoon for the children to rest.
I enjoy children and the way they view the world, my focus is to spark an enjoyment and desire to learn, explore and question the world in a safe and controlled environment. I strongly believe each child is unique and therefore is entitled to their own interests, dislikes and joys. I base my teaching around finding these and pulling a valuable and rich curriculum that both engages and interests the child in learning and exploring. I like to use familiar things to teach the children diifferent concepts.
I am currently in the process of writing a children's story and believe that early exposure to story telling, pictures, books and words builds a strong foundation for children's learning. I encourage imagination development and provide many outlets for each child to use this powerful tool however they wish, perhaps in creating a story, play or artwork, dressing up in costume or using everyday objects to compliment their imaginative play. |

Before and afterschool care is only available for children attending St. Joseph's or Paisley Road school. If you provide transportation to and from the school to the day care, care can be provided. |
