My day home is contracted with Glengarry Family Day Homes. I am a second year Early Learning and Child Care student and incorporate my studies into the educational and play based curriculum I offer my children in care. I have additional training in special needs care, FASD, first aid/cpr. Both my husband and myself have clear criminal records and child welfare checks. We have 3 children of our own, which results in over ten years of child care experience.
I operate my day home with a planned, play-based curriculum, a 4-week rotating menu, and plan monthly fieldtrips around the city of Edmonton. I limit television to a maximum of 1 hour per day and there are no manditory nap times. We are a nut-free environment, as there are severe allergies within the home. We have a small dog, aquarium and 5 open centers that include dramatic play, blocks, art, music, reading, gross motor and a science centre is opening soon!
