Hello! My name is Julie and I'm a mother of two little beauties, 6 years and 8 year old. I am a Registerd Early Childhood Educator. I have been working with children my whole life. I am patient, gentle and love to challenge children and watch them learn. I have a current certificate in CPR and First Aid.
Prior to starting my home daycare, 5 years ago, I worked for Global Child Care Services as a head teacher and Joint Health and Safety Represenative. It was a great job, but once I had my own children, I knew I wanted to open a home daycare where I could have the best of both worlds!
I provide a fun and safe environment for the children to learn and grow. We spend lots of time outside, including during a light rain, cool winter and hot summers!
We enjoy lots of crafts, science activities, parks, walks to the store, sensory activities and quiet times reading, cuddling and just playing. Our current project is pet caterpillars! Each of the children have one in a little container and we are waiting and watching for them to crystalist and transform into a butterfly for them to release!
I like to follow the childrens interests and do not make a set program plan. However, I do find that there are some things that we are always working on with babies, toddler and preschoolers. These things include, potty training, manners, respecting our friends, parents and toys, learning to follow routines and transitions.
I am not completely billigual, but make a good effort to speak with the children in french, teach basic words and sing french songs together.
I cook all my meals for the children and feel that very healthy meals are important for their complete growth.
