Opening March 14th! Home daycare in a family home with a special area devoted to play and learning. Currently accepting applications for full-time and part-time care. Children must be between 9 months and 5 years of age. However, before and after-school care also available for children up to 12 years of age. Centre also within walking distance of Pine Grove Public School and Micheal J. Brennan Catholic School.
My name is Elizabeth Nicol or Ms. Nicol to my students. I am a certified teacher, currently on maternity leave with my 9-month-old daughter and my three-year-old son, attending school in the fall. After graduating from teacher’s college in 2007, I put my career on hold to start a family. I have been working at Oxford Learning for two and a half years. But have since decided to be home with my children during these formative years of development.
Your child will be treated like one of my own, while under my care. I am an easy-going and enthusiastic individual with a passion for teaching. With a background in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education, I have designed my main lower-level playroom to resemble a classroom with age-appropriate toys and centers, tailored towards learning. We have a jam-packed schedule including circle time, group play, learning time, centers and outdoor play in my fully fenced back yard. With weekly scheduled walks around the neighborhood and monthly scheduled walking trips to Port Dalhousie in the spring and summer. A hot breakfast and lunch will be served daily, as well as 2 snacks. Whole foods, including fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and non-processed meats will be served in fun ways your child is sure to enjoy. I have a wealth of cooking experience and cater all meals to be healthy, age appropriate and in accordance with Canada’s food guide. Yet also allowing “kids to be kids” with occasional treats such as pizza, cake, etc. to be served at special celebrations.
