My name is Shelley Phillips and I am an Early Childhood Education graduate, I have been working in the daycare field for over 24 years.
As a professional childcare provider, my goal has been to provide a safe and happy environment where children can learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially at their own pace.
For the past 19 years I have been providing home childcare in a family-like setting with mixed age groups, in the Whitby area. My mandate over the years has been to provide families with a great educational theme based program where their children received quality personal and individualized care, the opportunity to gain practice in language, fine motor and large motor skills and self-help skills, through play. I understand the needs of parents, being a parent myself, and I have provided a day care situation that I would want my own children to be a part of if I was still working outside the home. We work on a monthly themed calendar created to meet the childrens interests, and prepare them for "big" school. This is done through crafts, games, cooking, story times, computer work and lots of talking!Our days takes us on journeys to the library, the Toronto Zoo, tours of businesses, local parks, we also welcome special visitors just to name a few of our adventures!
I am also excited to offer my knowledge of running a professional, fun, and successful home daycare to others. As well I offer my services to parents who are looking for a daycare to meet their personal needs and need someone to help them find that perfect home daycare for their child.
