Shawna's NannyCare is owned and operated by me, Shawna Lorrie. I have been providing quality childcare, in a variety of settings, for over 20 years.
My NannyCare philosophy combines the personalized care nannies provide with the benefits that group childcare offers. NannyCare applies best practices of Early Childhood Education (Play-based/Reggio) with Montessori Methods and Waldorf Teachings. My philosophy has an underlying message of celebrating the Earth.
Shawna's NannyCare is a Safe Space, where children are valued and safety and respect are of the up-most importance. I practice positive child guidance; I am predictable and use simple and direct statements.
I have a passion for childcare. I look forward to getting to know your child, you and your family. I enjoy providing individualized care; I love learning about each child. My goal is to thoughtfully engage each child. I love the time I get to spend with children. I love listening to children; I love what they have to say! I love how they see the world!
I have the character traits that one would hope to see in a childcare provider: I am calm, loving, reliable, patient, honest, respectful and optimistic. It is important to me to build a foundation of trust with each child.
I take pride in my business and my unique childcare philosophy. I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, my friends and family, and keeping a clean and organized home. I love learning, too! I am currently pursuing my Montessori Infant-Toddler Certificate. I am also interested in exploring aromatherapy and yoga. |
