I have an established and reputable dayhome in the NW community of Capitol Hill. I am located right in between University of Calgary and SAIT. Also conveniently close to the Children's and Foothills Hospital
My dayhome philosphy is learning through play. This philosophy is not based on free-play all day long but rather a child-directed play. Through this sort play the child learns about themselves and the surrounding world. They learn through art, music, dramatic play, stories, dance, loose parts, open-ended toys and more! In this sort of environment the children are encouraged to imagine, explore and problem-solve. Activities are child-directed and caregiver-directed.
You will often find us playing outside. I beleive that people are healthier beings if they spend time outdoors. We spend some time every day outside despite the weather to move our bodies (unless it is very cold).
I have also been running my dayhome for 11 years. I have a great reputation throughout the community, and I have excellent references
