My name is Christine,
I am a 25 year old loving mother to a handsome 20 month old boy and a devoted military wife who provides at home childcare in the Petawawa area. My home based Childcare has been open & very active since May of 2010. I have 10 years experience as an early childhood educator. I've worked in daycare centers in a variety of roles such as an assistant, preschool & toddler educator and supervisor as well as a before and after school program coordinator. I enjoy working with children, discovering and learning new things with them in all aspects of their development.
I live on CFB Petawawa on Paardeburg blvd. behind Pinecrest and St-Francis of Assisi school ideal for before and after school children, a walking distance away. My home & environment is smoke free and we have a beautiful cat in our family named Cinder. She is shy and sleeps all day in her secret hiding spot away from the children =)
Knowing how expensive childcare can get with my own child, my rates are affordable yet competitive. I provide fun, safe and secure care for children whom are able to walk and up.
Open 6:30-4:30 (flexible)
Part time rates are 25$ a day less then 5 hours, 2 days a week minimum.
Full time 30$ a day 5 hours + (up to 9hours).
Before and After school 10$/day. I can help with homework at parents request.
I provide monthly receipts.
Healthy meals and snacks are provided. All food groups are included in our menu daily.
Breakfasts for early birds, snacks, lunches and all beverages are provided.
Plenty of indoor & outdoor play come rain, snow or shine!, educational & themed activities, circle times where we learn our numbers, alphabet, animals, colours, shapes, socializing, memory, weekdays and months, singing, dancing... We do arts & crafts and have occasional outings to the rec plex, splash pad, play dates with other childcare providers, walks, picnics...
Each parent is provided with a journal for their child which is used to comute between home and daycare. In the journal I will be writting what your child did during the day, likes, dislikes and what we ate. How long they napped and when they went potty or had a diaper change. This journal is also used if mommy and daddy have concerns or any questions they wish for me to answer or to let me know if you little prince or princess is having a good or perhaps sad morning and needs some extra TLC =o)
I am CPR/first aid certified further more certified in Daycare emergency. My course is renewed every 2years.
My home is equipped with first aid kits, fire extinguishers and is child friendly. Door stoppers, handle covers, locked cabinets, baby gates, toys to a low level, socket covers, fire and carbon monoxide detectors on all floors...
Our home is also yearly inspected by the fire chief for fire escapes/ plans, emergency exits, fire extinguisher, electrical outlets, fire alarm and carbon monoxide check.
Nap linens are cleaned and disinfected weekly.
Toys are disinfected weekly and on rotation to keep things interesting and fun!.
You the parents is responsible to supply all diapers, wipes, blanky or cuddle toy for comfort and a change of clothes.
I provide play pens, highchairs/booster seats and I have 2 potty stations for potty trainers as well as our full bathroom on the second floor.
When you come for a visit you will be given a folder which contains my resume, past and current references, a contract which will be adjusted to our personal agreements. As well as copies of other forms which you will be required to fill out from time to time if your child gets injured or must be administered prescribed medication while in my care.

Please remember that being a childcare provider is my choice of profession. I depend on this income as you depend on yours and prefer to have children who are here on a consistant basis. The cost of running a childcare adds up from groceries, my CAC card, toys, crafts, learning materials... As well as taking time away from my family to set up interviews for prospective families, filling out paperwork, prep work for activities and making sure you and your child/ren's experience in my care is the best and comfortable for your family. |
