I am an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) who facilitates an educational and developmentally appropriate program to foster growth and development of the children within my care. I have 14 Years experience with in home childcare program working with children between the ages of 1 to 4 yrs. I have 6 years experience in centre based daycare as a Head Teacher of a Toddler program, and other experience in Preschool, Kindergarten and School Age programs respectfully. I bring the children to daily activities outdoors and in, which assists the children in their social and gross motor development. Some examples of this are excursions to local parks, Pet stores, etc, etc. I keep daily menus are followed in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide. Each parent is given a copy of the menu for their own viewing at home. I keep developmentally appropriate toys and activities within my daycare. Toys are cleaned on a regular basis to maintain cleanliness and art/craft and sensory activities are provided for children to assist them with their Fine Motor and Cognitive skills. Safety is a key component of my daycare. All children are kept safe in my environment. Equipment is constantly checked, and safety is always a primary thought before any activity takes place. The outdoor play space in my yard is a children only yard with many toys and structures. The Dogs never go in this part of the yard because they have their own run located in a different area of my yard away from the children’s space.
