Kelly's Daycare is located in Old Barrhaven. Walking distance to Walter Baker Community center for the Library, walking distance to numerous parks/green space and also walking distance to a play group.
I have 23+ years experience in the childcare field and I foster an environment that caters to the individual child as well as the group as a whole.
I am CYW trained from Algonquin. As well, I am an actively participating member of the CCPRN. I am also CPR/First aid trained and I have a current Police records check on hand.
I have 4 recent years experience in caring for children with asthma and allergies. I feel highly versed in recognizing and handling symptoms appropriately.
With plenty of indoor/outdoor activities, nutritional meals/snacks and an opportunity to make new friends, your child(ren) will thrive in a very 'homey' atmosphere.
I have a program that I like to adhere to on a daily/weekly schedule, but I am certainly flexible enough to adjust around the child(ren)s specific needs/wants depending on the day.
With regards to expected daycare behavior, I am firm, but very fair. I have a zero tolerance policy for bullying, but in my experience it never gets to that level in my care as the children are often reminded to respect each other from either an early age, or from day one in my care.
Typically we play outside, free play inside, LOTS of attention to story time and/or reading, color/craft, use our imaginations with games such as puppets, dress up etc. There may not be a specific order as to when we do each during the day, but we get a lot accomplished none the less. I love to sing and I love music which I think in turn is fun for the children.
Additionally I love to bake/cook which enables another form of activity through the week. The children love to help prepare food with me, even if they don't like the end result from time to time. I have a lot of experience with picky eaters and I pride myself on finding creative ways to make sure that the kids eat what they need to.
