My name is Katherine, and I am a married mother of two beautiful children ages seven and four.
My formal education is in the field of Developmental Service worker. I have current first aid, c.p.r and crisis intervention as well as a criminal back ground check for both myself and my husband. I am a member of C.C.P.R.N., ABC Teach and School Express
I have 18 years’ experience in the field of childcare and have experience and training working with children whom have special needs as well.
I am available either full day or after school. Schools in our district are Pope John, and Manordale Public. I am willing to take on children for short term basis.
Our routine involves table time learning activities, arts and crafts, baking, gardening in the summer, and outings to local libraries, play groups, museums and parks. For my after school children, I provide a chance to get a head start on their homework following snack time.
I offer lunch and two snacks, all of which are healthy, homemade and follow the recommendations of the Canada food guide. I only use organic and free range item with a large scoop of TLC when preparing meals. Any recommendations are welcome. Special dietary considerations welcome.
In order for the relationship between parent and provider to be successful I encourage open communication. I also use a communication book that travels between me and home so that parents are always informed as to how their children are doing.
Above all else I am a firm believer that all children regardless of age, and situation should be treated with respect, kindness and dignity that we are deserving of.
