I am a mom to a 3 year old daughter. I have been a daycare provider for 2 1/2 years, with 1 child under my care. We provide lots of cuddles and laughter. Children play in a safe and clean environment to help them learn new skills and grow each day. I have 1 1/2 years of my Early Childhood Education Diploma at Sheridan College, finishing the rest at night. I have experience in a child care at the Milton Community Resource Center, in the Ontario Early Years program. My First Aid and Infant/Child CPR training is completed. A Police Check as well.
I have 2 spots available. Ages 16 months to 8 years. I provide drop off and pickup for school age. I am located at Thompson and Derry, just off of Yates. Full time is $38.00 a day, school age is $20.00 a day.
We provide lots of cuddles and laughter. A safe and clean environment to help children learn new skills and grow each day. Playing, sharing, social skills and child development is promoted and encouraged each day. We use the High Scope model for our daily routine. 14 foot by 21 foot playroom. A kitchen, changing area and a washroom are right next to the playroom. 2 snacks and lunch are served. A park is nearby. Fully fenced backyard with locking gate. Daily reports and tax receipts are given. A 2 nap schedule can be provided for younger children.
A brief description of our day:
Children are encouraged to explore all the activities at their own place in their own way and get settled in through freeplay.
Plan-Do-Review helps children learn and develop their creativity, recognition and cognitive skills. It allows children to make daily plans by choosing the activity they want to do, following through and completing the activity and then recalling what they have done by telling me and others in group time. All materials are open-ended, developmental and age appropriate. It includes shape sorting and matching, serialization of objects and blocks, painting, finger painting, drawing, colouring, Playdo, crafts and Scrapbooking.
Small Group Time provides children with skill instruction. Learning the alphabet, vocabulary and adding and subtracting are examples. As well, teaching colors, shapes and numbers. Activities to develop fine motor skills and hand eye coordination, such as puzzles and putting beads on and off strings and pipe cleaners.
Large Group Time gives children a social connection. The children sit in circle to share and enjoy things with each other. I read books to the children or the children can read to us. Show and tell is done. Music and Movement is done through playing with toy instruments, dancing, listening to music and singing. We also have lots of fun with Arts and crafts. This involves Playdo, creating pictures using different materials, such as stickers, washable markers, crayons, glitter glue, regular children’s glue, felt pieces, feathers, different shapes, cotton balls and popsicle sticks. Children are always encouraged to talk and share their feeling and experiences.
No child is forced to sleep, however nap time or quiet time is provided.
Outdoor time when weather permits. Colder than -20 or warmer than +25 children will be keep indoors. Gross motor exercises are done when we cannot go out. Outdoor time is in my backyard, that is fenced with a locking gate, or at the park.
To setup a time to meet me and see the daycare, please call, text or e-mail. I hope to hear from you soon, thank you.
