I have been doing daycare in my home for 7 years. I have 3 children of my own, 2 of which are in school full time (ages 6 and 8) and I have my 2 year old at home with me. I believe in providing a nurturing environment for your child, and fully understand the responsibility that I have in caring for your child while you are away at work.Your child will become like one of mine, and I like to keep my daycare small so I can devote plenty of one on one time to all the children.
In a home-like environment, guidance and discipline is needed to provide a safe and secure environment for a child. Every child will be made to feel secure by being positively encouraged and reinforced on a daily basis. This will impact a positive effect on developing appropriate relationships with the childcare provider and other children.
Some forms of guidance/discipline that may be demonstrated are redirection of a child to another area until they can manage with the other children, privileges taken away and time-outs only when needed. The time-out length will be determined by their age.
Discipline that will not be used by Tanya is any form of physical or verbal abuse that degrades a child in any way and hinders a safe environment for all children.
Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
