Hello
My name is Andreah and I am the mom to 2 amazing little girls (ages 3.5 and 17 months). I have been doing home daycare since september of 2011 (after having taken off a year for the birth of our youngest, I had done home daycare for a year previous to becoming pregnant with her).
I believe in a low ratio daycare and will only be looking after 3 daycare children. I believe that allows the children more one on one attention as well as more individualized activities and learning.
We are a very active home daycare. I am currently providing care for 3 children (ages 3.5, 14 months and 10 months) but will have 2 spots opening up (sept 2012) due to (1 being transfered to a different city and another due to full day kindergarten on the other side of Barrhaven)
We do daily circle time, sing songs, learn abc's, counting, preschool learning activities, crafts, playdoh play, lots of free play as well as some structured learning based play. I believe that children learn best from accidental learning then forced sit down and listen learning. We read a minimum of 3 stories daily as well as practice reading comprehension (age appropriate however).
We are a family oriented home daycare and want to make your kids feel like part of our family. I treat your children as if they were my own. I serve 2 snacks (morning and afternoon) as well as a healthy home cooked well balanced lunch (for babies who are still eating specific food we ask that you provide that).
We live right by 3 different parks where we attend daily (weather permitting) for a minimum of an hour. We have a large non fenced back yard where the kids are free to use their imagination to create fun filled games and activities.
We have a large main floor playroom as well as a large basement playroom. We have many age appropriate toys as well as designated napping areas.
