A perfect combination of montessori and early childhood education set in a quiet and safe home school environment. Each child is taught with one on one instruction and allowed to pursue their own interests. The children will have to opportunity to participate in group activities such as circle time, science experiments and group games. I am an ece with 14 years teaching experience, a trained montessori teacher, mother of 2 school age children and former private school principal.
Our back yard is large, fully fenced and mostly shaded providing the children with a safe environment to play. The children will spend (weather permitting) a minimum of 2 hours per days outside, they will never be sitting on the couch watching TV or playing video games. In addition to our bright main floor classroom we also have and indoor gym/gross motor room for those rainy days.
The program includes spontaneous field trips (walks in the neighborhood) and planned field trips such as to the library, swimming or skating.
I have completed my food handler safety certificate. The majority of the food is home made and the children are never fed food containing food coloring or preservatives. The children are offered fresh fruit, vegetables and yogurt as part of their daily menu. The children are also encouraged to help in meal preparation. All food allergies will be respected.
