Hello my name is Natasha; I am a mother of a very active beautiful soon to be 5 year old girl. My experience with children includes teaching tap, jazz and ballet for many years to children 3 years and older and a mommy and me class to children 2 years old.
I had the opportunity to teach English and dance in Shanghai, China for 1 year at an International Pre School and Kindergarten.
I have my Health Care Aid certificate and worked in a nursing home for years providing care to people with Alzheimer's disease. I have years of experience working and caring for people with Special Needs. I have my Childcare First Aid with CPR. My husband and I have our police clearance checks.
I love children, I think they are awesome!!! Getting to know each child as the unique individual they are is very exciting and rewarding.
The Purple Hippo is a Dayhome with Christian values. It is a safe, smoke free, fun, nurturing and educational place to be. I believe children learn through exploring their environment, having hands on activities, free play and guided play.
We love to be active, playing outside, making obstacle courses, playing with balls, swinging on the swings, playing in the sand box and on really hot days running through the sprinkler.
Indoor activities include music and movement, singing and of course dancing!! I have plenty of toys for children of all ages. We also will be participating in arts and crafts, coloring, painting, Crazy Forts, dress up, roll playing, story time, making puzzles, building with lego and baking. Quiet time is included in our day. I have a nap room for children if needed. (Every child will have an individual nap mat, linen and blanket)
I provide healthy nutritional meals (breakfast and lunch) and snacks throughout the day. I follow Canada's Food Guide to ensure your child is receiving the proper nutrition they require for their developing minds and growing bodies. The Purple Hippo celebrates every child's birthday with a cake and they get to choose what is on the lunch menu that day.
I provide a communication book that I will write in everyday to inform you about your child's day.

We have one small dog; a pekingese cross. Very friendly and gets along with children. Summer is 11 years old. We also have a bearded dragon named Sally that the children love and a fish tank.
