Description

I currently have 1 spot available for a child over 2.

Hi parents, I opened my dayhome in November of 2011, and I have a great group of kiddos right now. We are looking to fill one more spot!

I have an educational Assistant Certificate, as well as an Educational Assistant Diploma, totaling 3 years of education in the early development/special needs field.

I have worked in the public school system in both kindergarten and grade 1 classes in Ontario for about 4 years. Followed by 4 years at a special need preschool here in Calgary.

I also have my own son, who turned 2 in December. I had a hard time finding suitable childcare for him. I have found that day cares have a long wait list and are too impersonal for this tender age and dayhomes didn't always have enough stimulation for the growing mind. So, I have decided to open a dayhome that functions with the same basis as a daycare, (ie,scheduled sensory activities, fine and gross motor activities, alphabet practice, outdoor play, and free play for social skills) but has the same personal aspect as a dayhome. My son is doing well, knows his colours, most of his shapes, and can count to 5 correctly (he knows his numbers to 10, but not in the right order). He can now identify the first letter in his name, and all the first letter in all his friends names!

After the final spot is filled, and the child has adjusted. I will be starting the "Ready for school program" this is a preschool program that covers language, printing and math/counting. I currently work on these things, but would like to run a recognized program. I have not started it yet, as I want all my kiddo's to start it at the same time, so no one is left behind. It can be altered for the age of each child, and, it is a program we used at the preschool where I worked prior to opening my dayhome. I know how to teach it, and I know that it works!

In short, I have decided to organize this dayhome with a hope that both parents and children will find it comfortable and fun. Children learn with laughter; if you can get a child to laugh, you can get a child to learn. They go hand in hand. A happy child is a child open to be taught!

Please email for the policy and procedures, as well as any other questions you might have!

Rates are as follows:
Full time -- $900
Part time -- 3 days $600
-- 2 days $400
They include breakfast, lunch and two snacks!
