Hami’s Playhouse is a Well-established Multi-age childcare centre with a Licensed Early Childhood Care and Education and Infant &Toddler caregiver; provides a fun, exciting and comfortable home environment, where children can play, create and learn in a safe loving environment. This type of license is different from a family daycare license and is given only to centers with Early Childhood trained and certified staff. I have created a welcoming environment at the first floor of my house where, has been transformed and designated for daycare use only. As a mother, my commitment to children’s care and well-being is commendable. With the comforting feel of a home and a layout similar to an educational environment, the children get the best of both worlds. A smooth transition into a new centre is a key component during this very emotional time.
Hours of operation: 7:30- 5:30 provides two healthy snacks. |

At Hami’s Playhouse, we provide care for children who are 1-5 years of age. The concept of mixed age care allows the younger children to learn from the older and vice versa. Hami's Playhouse Childcare Centre believes each child is a unique individual with their own personality, preparedness, potential, curiosity, and interest. We strive to accommodate every child through a variety of activities in a multitude of ways. We support each child’s individuality and we understand and respect children’s diversity.
Children will be encouraged and supported at their own level through developmentally appropriate activities that encourage emotional, social, intellectual, creative and physical development. Children will feel accepted and appreciated with safe opportunities to interact, communicate and respect one another.
It is our role as teachers and facilitators to foster each child’s unique and authentic growth and guide each type of learner to reach their full potential on many different levels.
We use Reggio Emilia Approach. This approach fosters children’s intellectual development through representation. Children are encouraged to explore their environment and express themselves through their many natural symbolic languages; written and spoken words, drawing, painting, sculptures in clay and other materials, block constructions, drama, movement, dance, music, and more. As a learner as well as a teacher to others, our children are actively involved in planning their activities. Our curriculum is deliberately developed by both staff and children through observing closely each other and communicating together as partners in learning.
We trust and respect children’s sense of ownership, autonomy and control of their own learning and play. |
