I offer nutritious well balanced meals. Young children need to learn how to interact socially with peers, how to separate from Mom or Dad and how to accept direction from an adult other than their parents. This is a crucial developmental stepping stone in the early childhood years: developing a sense of self-autonomy. “I can do it myself!” However, sometimes either the parent or the child is not ready for a large nursery school setting. I provide a natural first step away from home on the road of “independence”. Children and parents can separate from each other feeling confident that they are going to a warm, cozy place with a small group of children where they can learn and play together.
I set limits for children and they quickly learn the routine and what is expected of them as a small group. I teach through modeling appropriate behaviour, praising fine behaviour and friendly behaviour and rewarding with smiles and hugs!
I love caring for children. Small children are full of life, boundless in their energy and in their desire to learn, endearing in their innocence. They challenge me, they make me think, and most of all, they make me laugh!
