Hi moms and dads! My name is Melissa and I have been running Little Adventures Dayhome since August 2010. I am 28 years old and have a 2 year old daughter, Abi. We have a wonderful group of children in our dayhome (currently all of our children are 1-3, we welcome any age but at this time do not offer school/bus runs), unfortunately we are loosing one of our little girls as their family is moving across the city :( We would like to fill this spot with a full-time child between the ages of 0-5 but will consider a part time family; we are more than willing to be accomodating for a great fit (will also consider siblings) :) Should you need care on Saturdays please feel free to discuss with me.
We are located in Greenwood Village Mobile Home Park, just off 16th Ave between Stoney and Sarcee (across the highway from C.O.P.). We are close to Bowness, Valley Ridge, Tuscany, Royal Oak, Silver Springs and Montgomery; and we welcome children whos parents are commuting past or around us as we are just off a couple of main commuting paths! We are open 7:00am -5:30pm (I am willing to be flexible within reason, as this time is dictated by the current families needs). We have a clean home, with no pets and we are a non-smoking family. I have my current Emergency First Aid and CPR (through Red Cross). We have lots of play time with integrated learning, we have dance parties, working on arts and crafts, will be adding baking days, etc... I like to run the dayhome as if the children were part of our home as opposed to in an "institution". I feel they learn more by interaction and attention when they are engaged in activities they are interested in! We try to have daily story times, weekly crafts, colour as often as we can, have both structured and unstructured play, and get outside to the backyard or on our deck, not to mention snuggles! We have a separate sleeping room, that once the kids naps are only once a day we will be using as a second playroom. We serve morning snack (9am), lunch (11:30ish) and afternoon snack (3:30 or 4:00), and should your child be here prior to 8 am we can discuss breakfast, focusing on healthy eating and introducing the children to various fruits and vegetables. While I do not claim to use 100% organic products, we do use organic foods, serve some vegan meals, and use as minimally processed food as possible (even pancakes are from scratch!). Menus are created monthly, as well as bimonthly newsletters, and daily "report cards" are done up so you know what your child is eating and what their days have been like! I have wonderful references available upon request.
