Any suggestions for books and songs that your little love to get up and move to? We just read "Silly Sally Goose" and they loved all the actions!

Head and Shoulders, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Ring around the Rosy, The Leg Bone is connected to the Knee bone...

All my kids love these songs.
What is Silly Sally Goose? Never heard of it!

5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed and my dckids do all the jumping and falling, etc.
Mr. Crocodile
Where is thumbkin?
5 little ducks went out to play, over the hills and far away (One child is Momma duck & one child is Daddy duck) They take turns doing the quack, quack part.
Get a Raffi CD or DVD and you'll have lots of these.

Do you have lots of finger puppets? I get my older children to put on short little puppet shows.

One of the fav action books for 2.5-4 year olds is "We're Going on a Bear Hunt"

You can sit in a circle or else stand up and act out all the things like splashing through the water, tip toeing in a cave, pushing your way through long, wavy grass. Kids never seem to get tired of this story.
At the end when you see the bear you have to backtrack your way home through all the actions again but faster *(since the bear is after you) and the kids always giggle and love it

My group loves "Toe Knee Chest Nut". It makes them laugh and learn their body parts

These monkeys don't focus on stories, they prefer books that make them look for things, like "Where's Waldo", but on a more juvenile level. They also love truck and car books. Even the girls

My gang loves the I Spy type books where they have to look for things. I have one that is all hot wheels cars and you look on each page for certain ones and one that is dinosars in various scenes out all the time since they are board books but have a few others from the scholastic book orders the kids like.

For the alphabet learning Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is the best book ever! I made little coconut trees and taped a paper pouch on the back of it, then made up little letters they can fit in the pouch as I read the story then at the Boom Boom part they get to dump out all the letters.

Get the book, then you'll know what I'm talking about.
