This is a good time of year to visit garage sales in your area or if you have access to a car you might consider going to other parts of your city to for variety. Make a list of the toys you want to have in your daycare and then gradually pick them up. Example select a type of block and then whenever you see some get them - soon you will have a full bin of them for the children. Books and puzzles are usually very cheap to buy at sales.

For larger items you can check out www.kijiji.com and find the one for your area and then look for toys, playground equipment as well as baby items like playpens, gates, high chairs.

Check the phone book for consignment stores in your area. Usually some good deals on toys and equipment. Second hand stores in general such as Value Village, or those run by various charities will also have toys for sale.

Just be sure to check the toys for loose parts or signs of excessive wear meaning they are reaching the end of use. Be sure to wash all used toys you purchase before using even if they look clean.

Also remember that you don't have to have a lot of things all at once. Which means over the course of the summer you can visit sales and add to your collection.
