Today I had a child do something I've never experienced before working with children. I responded to an alarming cry from a 4 year old during nap time. She had taken her bret out of her hair and clipped something else with it . . .
Where do you think that bret was clipped?
Whoever guesses right gets a pat on the back . . .

One of those things where you wish you could take a picture to support the injury but just know that would be so out of line. The verbal explanation will be bad enough - although at the age you should be able to get the child to tell the mom with prompting like what did your barrette do at naptime - did it hurt you - show mommy where .....
Barrettes, hair elastics, hair bands, socks for infants - had a baby almost choke once after stuffing it in their mouth, belts, sweaters that button and any jewelry are all removed at naptime one for safety and one for limiting playtime.
No one can ever say our job is dull and routine.

Her eyelid . . . She clipped her barette to her freaking eyelid . . . .
Her explanation why? 'I didn't have a mirror and I wanted to see what I was clipping' . . . LMAO . . . she's fine by the way.

OMG - a first for me ... just so you know the 'who ha' and 'nipple' sadly more common that people might think ... seen both of those more than once in my career in centre care and always make you wonder what would make them think to do that - at at least the EYELID is logical conclusion from a kids frame of thinking ;)

OMG! How do you do that? I can't even imagine it. I have a little fancy girly girl who has necklaces, bracelets, barretts, the whole works every morning so we have a little pile of things she can't wear to bed every day then we have to get her all pretty again when she wakes up.
